First Tennessee is the first Tennessee-based bank and among the first in the nation to offer the service. With mobile deposit, customers can take photos of checks using their iPhones and send the images electronically to First Tennessee for deposit. This gives customers convenience with the ability to deposit checks from anywhere at any time and additional security since customers will no longer need to carry checks until they can visit the bank in person.

"We are excited to now enable our customers to make deposits anytime and anywhere their iPhone has data access," said Dan Marks, chief marketing officer for First Tennessee. "With mobile deposit, we are able to accommodate our customers' fast-paced lifestyles and provide added convenience and security."

First Tennessee has a history of being on the forefront of technological advances in the financial industry. The company pioneered the Visa payroll card, one of BusinessWeek magazine's Best Products of 2001. First Tennessee was also a pioneer of remote deposit capture, which allows businesses to deposit checks by scanning them rather than physically delivering them to the bank. And for the past two years First Tennessee's parent company has been named to the Information Week 500, a ranking of the country's most innovative users of technology.

Mobile deposit is available to eligible iPhone users enrolled in mobile banking, and First Tennessee is developing mobile deposit for other smartphones. For details and full eligibility information, customers can visit www.ftb.com/mobiledeposit.
